Since February 1972, Bill Turner and Blue Smoke have been
barnstorming the NY NJ and PA tristate area, beginning in nightclubs, and
gradually expanding into concerts, conventions, Atlantic City casinos,
recordings...and even MTV, where their music was heard in the 4 commercials
that launched the M-2 Satellite network in 1996!
Bill Turner & Blue Smoke was one of the first bands to
get involved in the "healing arts", beginning in 1979 when they
first appeared at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in New York. The band has had
repeat performances there an estimated 30 times over the years, as well
as in many other facilities all over New York City and the surrounding area.
The band's formula is simple: Upbeat, positive, 'feel-good'
music...delivered in the manner of a cheerleader. Nobody in the audience
sleeps during a Blue Smoke performance.
Bill Turner spent almost 3 years playing lead guitar with
Bill Haley in the mid 70's, and also had 6 guest appearances on Nashville's
Grand Ole Opry during the 80's....and brings the excitement and energy of
these very experiences with him, to every audience he and the band
perform for.
Bill and the band are REAL players....the band uses
absolutely NO prerecorded CDs, tapes, or any other sequenced artificial music
in it's performances, despite its 400+ song repertoire, and many styles of
music it plays.
The band has appeared regularly in Atlantic City at Bally's
Wild, Wild West Casino for the past 7 years.
